Welcome to invelope
Hi, I'm Billy, I'm 37, and this is Paige, my daughter, she's 8*.
* By the time you're reading this, we're probably both a bit older.

A while back, I read an article about how a child's money habits are formed by age 7.
So I decided to get my daughter to start budgeting and planning.

To make it easier for her, and hopefully more fun, I built invelope.
Welcome!
What is invelope?
invelope is an easy-to-use, fun and engaging, digital envelope-budgeting system.
It's designed for families to use together, kids and adults, planning and organising their money.
It's used to organise birthday money; to save up for that guinea pig. It's also used to plan out the family budget; putting enough money aside for both cocoa pops and red wine*.
*Not for the same people, or the same meal.
How does it work?
You create a budget (e.g. "February", "Summer holiday", or "Pocket money"), and then you create named envelopes inside that budget (e.g. "Petrol", "Food", or "Take away")
Each envelope starts with an amount of money (e.g. £200 for petrol). As you spend money on that thing, you reduce the amount of money in the envelope.
It's easy to understand how the envelopes work, and it's interesting to watch how the amounts in each go down over time.
Children learn how to make realistic, useful financial plans. That will set them up for the future.
How much does it cost?
It's free!
You can create as many budgets and envelopes as you like, there are no limits.
The caveat is that the data only lives on the one computer and isn't backed up. So if you lose your phone, buy a new laptop, or want to share budgets with multiple people, you can't.
There's a premium subscription plan (only £2 a month) which adds cloud sync (and some other things). This keeps your data safer, and let you open your budgets on multiple computers.
